Cash buyers account for nearly a third of sales in the current real estate market, a trend that rose sharply during the COVID-19 pandemic and has held firm ever since. According to the National Association of Realtors (NAR), cash sales accounted for 29% of real estate transactions in October 2025. This is only a marginal increase from 27% in 2024. In the first half of 2025, nearly one-third (32.8%) of home sales were all-cash transactions, which is significantly higher than pre-pandemic years when the average was 28.6%.
